Nerve
Conduction Velocity / Electromyography
Nerve Conduction Velocity is a test of the speed of conduction
of impulses through a nerve. Nerve Conduction studies are performed
in the evaluation of suspected neuromuscular disease and provide
an objective measure of pathophysidic changes. The information
obtained for this study helps to plan treatment and determine
prognosis for the patient. The most common use of NCV/EMG test
are for carpal tunnel screenings. NCV/EMG test can be performed
in pre-employment screenings for early detection of existing
carpal tunnel syndrome so that the employer is aware of a potential
workers compensation claim before hiring the employee.
Eddie Crocker, P.T. has been highly trained in Electromyography
and administering NCV test.
